CofferLok™ Weld Hubs

High-Strength Mechanical Hubs

Precision-machined weld neck hubs featuring the signature internal taper-seal pocket.

1. Compact Hub Geometry

Unlike bulky ANSI flange rings, CofferLok hubs feature a compact outer profile with a machined shoulder. This shoulder is designed to mate perfectly with the CofferLok external clamp segments, transmitting forces directly through the pipe axis.

2. Precision Alignment

CofferLok hubs are self-centering during assembly. As the clamp segments are tightened, they draw the hubs into perfect axial alignment, ensuring the internal seal ring sits exactly inside its pocket without pinching.

3. High-Quality Forgings

Machined from premium carbon steel, low-alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex, or nickel alloys. This matches the exact metallurgical properties of your piping specification, avoiding thermal stress discrepancies.

4. Taper-Seal Pocket

Every CofferLok hub is machined with our proprietary internal taper angle. This pocket encloses the metal seal ring completely, allowing system pressure to energize the seal and maintain absolute gas-tight closure.

Forged for Critical Service

CofferLok weld hubs are designed for seamless butt-welding directly into piping spools, manifold headers, vessel nozzles, or valve bodies.

With an ID matching the pipe schedule and a compact OD that fits in close-proximity pipe racks, CofferLok hubs streamline layout design and reduce mechanical load points.

Hub FAQ

What weld styles are available for CofferLok hubs?
CofferLok hubs are primarily supplied as Weld Neck configurations for high-pressure butt-welding. Socket weld and slip-on configurations can also be custom-engineered for specific low-pressure or utility applications.
Can the hub material match our pipe alloy?
Yes. CofferLok hubs are forged from materials that match your pipe grade, including ASTM A105, A350 LF2, A694 (up to F70), Duplex (F51/F53), Super Duplex, and Nickel Alloys (Inconel 625/825).
Is NDT inspection required on the hub welds?
CofferLok hubs are welded to the pipe using standard welding procedures (WPS) and are inspected using standard non-destructive testing (NDT) methods like radiography (RT) or ultrasonic testing (UT), just like standard ANSI flanges.
