1. Gas-Tight Containment

Unlike standard flat blind covers that rely on compression gaskets prone to creep and micro-leaks, Taper-Lok® blind flanges use a pressure-assisted metal sealing ring. This creates an absolute barrier against VOC emissions.

2. Lightweight Closures

Taper-Lok® blind flanges cut closure weight by up to 75% compared to solid ASME blind flanges. This eliminates the need for heavy lifting cranes during simple piping inspections and access operations.

3. Safe Over-Pressure Performance

Our blind flanges feature a tapered internal profile. As operating pressure inside the line increases, it expands the internal seal ring lips, pushing them tighter against the closure faces to seal more effectively.

What sizes and ratings are available for Taper-Lok® blind flanges?
Taper-Lok® blind flanges are available in standard pipe sizes from 1/2 inch to 48 inches, with pressure ratings matching ASME Class 150 through 2500 and API 5,000 through 15,000 psi.
Can the blind flange seal ring be reused?
Yes. Because the seal ring is metal-to-metal and self-energizing, it does not rely on soft elastomer compounds or high crushing forces. As long as the ring faces are undamaged, they can be cleaned and reused.
Can they be equipped with davit arms?
Yes. For larger sizes where manual handling is still heavy, Taper-Lok® blind flanges can be supplied with custom davit assemblies, hinges, or lifting lugs to facilitate safe, single-person access.
