CofferLok™ Blind Hubs

Rapid-Access Blind closures

High-pressure mechanical blind closures providing safe, fast-opening piping terminations.

1. Accelerated Turnaround Times

Conventional blind flanges require removing and re-installing up to 24 large bolts, taking hours of labor. CofferLok blind hubs are secured by our 4-bolt clamp assembly, which can be backed off and removed in minutes, speeding up line cleaning, pigging, and inspection.

2. Lightweight Closures

CofferLok blind hubs offer up to 75% weight savings compared to a solid ANSI blind flange of the same class. This allows maintenance crews to handle closures easily without needing heavy overhead cranes or dedicated rigging setups.

3. Zero-Leak Sealing Integrity

Utilizing CofferLok's self-energizing metal-to-metal seal ring, our blind hubs maintain an absolute leak-free barrier under severe thermal spikes, pressure cycles, and high-consequence chemical services.

4. Vessel and Skid Integration

Designed for easy integration onto pressure vessels, skid nozzles, piping manifolds, and pipeline end terminations. Standardizing your headers with CofferLok blind closures saves structural support costs and simplifies tooling.

Designed for Fast turnarounds

CofferLok blind hubs are forged from high-quality steel and can be customized with tap holes for pressure gauges, blowdown valves, or instrument sensors.

Perfect for volatile service lines, test manifolds, and high-frequency pig launching / receiving systems where speed and operator safety are critical.

Blind FAQ

Can CofferLok blind hubs be equipped with pressure bleed ports?
Yes. CofferLok blind hubs can be machined with threaded or NPT connections, autoclave ports, or auxiliary flange fittings to allow safe line depressurization or pressure monitoring before opening.
Do I need a crane to remove a CofferLok blind hub?
In most sizes (up to 12 inches), CofferLok blind hubs are light enough to be handled manually or with simple local hoists, whereas standard ANSI/API blind flanges of similar ratings are extremely heavy and require crane support.
How many times can the blind hub seal ring be reused?
CofferLok's metal seal rings can be reused repeatedly, provided they are inspected for scratches or pitting at each opening. If undamaged, they seal reliably without needing replacement, eliminating gasket replacement costs.
